AP - Ieri - 16.53Unidentified actors stage a demonstration as the organizers of the Venice Film hold a press conference, in Rome, Thursday, July 30, 2009. The organizers said the world economic crisis is weighing on the Venice Film Festival - both in the lineup and budget cuts to the 66th edition. Organizers on Thursday announced the 24 films vying for the Golden Lion at this year's film festival, which runs from Sept. 2-12. U.S. entries top the list with six, followed by four each for Italy and France. The presentation was delayed by protests against cuts in government funding to the arts, who held placards saying ' Death In Venice' and 'We don't want handouts'. Biennale director Paolo Baratta said the film festival was helped by sponsors and should end the year even. (AP Photo/Pier Paolo Cito)
